I'm getting outrage fatigue from genuine and well founded outrage. Good luck in finding good work Ana, you,'re definitely not alone in this we have been through it too. It's shocking how a Govt can crash the economy and then blame everybody for not working, both people who have worked hard all their lives and young people applying all over the place. NZ is a much meaner place right now and we have to have strrength in action and community.
Yes, when times are tough it's harder to maintain a soft heart! Neolib/Atlas//ACT style politics enable selfishness, greed and small mindedness. I am taking great heart from these brilliant young Maori lawyers like Tania Waikato and Riana Te Ngahue who are bringing people together and attacking this societal cancer with such grace, humour and fierce intelligence. Kia kaha!
Lots of great recommendations, as usual! Somehow I feel like I could never gird myself for the sadness and injustice of "Pike River" but perhaps I should man up.
I love that restored footage, Now YouTube is recommending me footage of London during WWII and my own town in the early 20th Century. It always makes me wonder who thought to photograph such mundane scenes. I like the way they've adjusted the speed so people aren't scurrying around like old footage used to make us think they did. Of course there's a lot more incidental footage of our own times left to future generations, but it's mostly crazy cat videos and RUNIT challenges.
Somebody known as "Quentin McDonald" who is actually cursed with an even funnier and only officially used first name is not in a position to make fun of people's names. But I would like to add Norbert Butz to the list.
My husband's last name is Jellyman. He always gets a doubletake. If I was a true trad wife I would be Ana Jellyman. So incongruous for a fleshy feminist.
My partner is in exactly the same boat as you Ana, with exactly the same skillset, similar age, also trying to find the same kind of work. She’s tough out there right now for sure. Fingers crossed for you something will come along.
Judith is offensive, not offended, every time

It feels meaner, doesn't it? I find myself being meaner, which I don't like.

Also, I wish I had remembered to proof read before posting!

Have seen them twice in Broadway shows and they are really funny. But how could they not be with that name (their birth name as far as I can tell)?
Good luck with the work search. I can see a Trad Wife life would not suit you but I have no doubt you'd make a good story out of it!
